Still trying

still can't get pictures to up load, but don't dispare I'll get them there eventually.

To go back to an earlier post re the SPEC's cameras.

I agree whole heartedly because I can not see for the life of me how by putting up specs cameras will stop the accidents on the A14. Even if they reduce the overall speed to 60 MPH it will not solve the problem, as lorries will still pull out in front of cars without any regard to other road users, all without exceeding the speed limit. I use the A14 every working day and see it happen several times in just 15 miles and nearly every day! One thing one does not see on the A14 is police cars, until there is an accident and they appear out of the woodwork like beatles and then close the road for hours.
Still back to trying to upload some pictures

I think we can all agree that the A14 is one of the worst roads in the country. It carries a huge amount of traffic, much of it freight, and it is not able to cope. There are frequent accidents and delays (two or three times a week there is travel news about some sort of delay/tailback/lane closure)but I'm not aware of any plans to alleviate the congestion. Presumably this has been discussed.

Using the A14 at least twice a day, sometimes more, just watching trucks pull out in front of cars/motorcycles without warning several time on each trip. Putting any form of camera up as a deterant is a waste of money. The only way to solve the problem is make it illegal for anything over 2 tonnes to be in the outside lane and put unmarked police cars out there to deal with offenders. We can but dream, the easy, cheap solution is not an option! Just throw vast amounts of money (Our money)at various camera options and hope for the best is their best idea. Speed is not the problem, bad driving by truck drivers is 90% of the problem. But try telling that to the powers that be.

Thank goodness I don't have to use this road! Peddle power is best!
